It’s Bad, you know

Brian McGloin

I just heard that Haliburton is going to do the clean up in Louisiana. They’re doing so well in Iraq that it only makes sense.

Bush was on vacation for two of the 4 days of the delay in action to the Hurricane. I guess there were no phones or means of communication in Crawford, TX.

The governor of LA was known to be an outspoken opponent of Bush and the Bush Boys War. There is strong speculation that the 4 day delay in planning any sort of relief effort was political backlash. The same can be said about the lack of planning and the neglect of the levee system.

When did the survivors of the Hurricane become refugees? They’re tax-paying American Citizens, not from Darfur or the Sahel (which is another story all together).

Rush Limbaugh and other over-paid fools with their heads in the sand try to blame the hurricane and the aftermath on the people involved. Barbara Bush said something like “they were poor anyway … now they have a good deal”.

Why do people love this filth so much? I’ll never understand why people vote so strongly against their own well being to keep these assholes in power.

The oil companies continue to make record profits and with the recent price gouging, there will be no end to it.

Where are the big corporations with donations? CocaCola and Pepsi with bottles of water, Procter & Gamble with Kraft food donations, Wal-Mart, Stop & Shop, and A&P companies with food and water donations … they’ll be happy to sell water or sell water for us to donate.

And of course, we have Pat Robertson’s call for the assassination of Hugo Chavez, the president of Venexuela. Awesome.

Why is it that the ones who claim to be Moral and Right and Christian are anything but? When where Murder, Thuggery, Profiteering and any other American Family Value proper Christian Morlas?

I’ve never understood it. It seems like the ones who preach the loudest from the highest promintory need to heed their pontifications the most.

OK. Bush is calling for an investigation that he’ll head up personally. Great, for a moment there, I thought someone Spineless, Evil and Corrupt was going to head the investigation. He’ll have to dig a little for information since he missed a few days being on vacation.

Chertoff denied to Robert Siegel that anythign had happened. he said that reports of chaos in the aftermath were rumors. That was pretty funny considering Mr Siegel was speaking to a reporter in New Orleans in the middle of the mess. NPR wasn’t the only organization to report on this. For some reason, however, FEMA and the military and the White House and Congress all were in the dark about anything happening.

On an unrelated note, R.L Burnside died the other day. He was a blues musician known for his loud and raw style. He did a great album with John Spencer Blues Explosion calles “A Ass Pocket of Whiskey”. It’s a loud, rough and raucous and recorded live in Burnside’s Louisiana home. I’m not sure where he died but he’ll be missed.
